After living in Alaska for nearly a decade we saw the desperate lack of basic essentials for children living in the native villages throughout the bush of Alaskan wilderness. Some of these items being socks and snowpants. Most winters in Alaska the temperatures comfortably drop to -52. We saw daily little children with no socks and no snow gear walking to school alone in snow storms sometimes snowing so hard you couldn’t even see the path in front of you. Seeing these little children, so innocent struggle and suffer, we decided to make it our mission to start a program. The winter of 2024 was our first take at the ins and outs of navigating shipments to villages of the bush. These villages we are targeting can only be accessed by plane or snowmobile. So it makes it hard when shipping 300 snowpants and socks. However, after all the snags were worked out we successfully delivered snowpants and socks to 4 native villages which were: Noorvik, Shungnak, Kobuk, and Kivalina. Our goal for this upcoming winter is to target 3 different villages providing the same gear.
